Exploring Norway on your own
Norway is one of the most attractive countries in Europe. It is famous for its fjords, former glacial valleys flooded by the sea. Another peculiarity of this country is Stava kirche, medieval, wooden churches that have survived to this day in an unchanged shape. They are real pearls of religious architecture. On a self drive Norway itinerary you have to go through a large number of tunnels and use ferry to cross the fjords but in general you usually have a 360 panorama of breathtaking views. Along the way, you can often find animals on the road, including reindeer. My starting point recommendation for your first visit to Norway is Bergen, with car renting at the airport, touring the area and driving north. The weather in Norway can change during summer, but for example in August there is a good chance of many sunny days. Your trip can be enriched by hiking in the mountains as well as hydrofoil/ship trips along the coast or deep into the fjords. It is also the only place in Europe outside the Alps where you will find glaciers. You will definitely love the wild plateaus with amazing vegetation. Another attraction in Norway is the trip to the polar pole as a possible extension of the trip I propose.
